Editorial Channels and Features
Playthings, founded in 1903, is the leading U.S. trade magazine covering the children's toy industry. We have a rich and vivid tradition of editorial coverage:
- We were the magazine of record when 'Teddy' bears became popular with American children during the first years of the 20th century.
- We were there, in 1945, to report on the first and only time in the 96-year history of the American International Toy Fair that the event was cancelled, due to World War II
- We reported in depth about a 'fashion doll' introduced on March 9, 1959, named 'Barbie.'
Our history and editorial expertise makes us particularly well-equipped to understand the dynamic and mercurial world of modern toys.
